This position will report to the Department Chair of the Doctoral Program and work closely with School of Nursing leadership and the Directors of the PhD and DNP programs. This position will support the Chinese Scholar, study abroad, faculty exchange, and visiting scholar programs. This position will also coordinate admissions and orientation for the doctoral nursing program as well as manage the evaluation and accreditation data. Primary Duties/Essential Functions Supports the Dean in establishing exchanges programs with identified universities. Orient visiting students and faculty to the expectations, policies, and culture of Azusa Pacific University and the School of Nursing. Assist in implementing study abroad policies and procedures, including preparing and administering materials, facilitating the application process, and communicating with offices on campus to resolve issues as they arise. Participate in development of faculty exchange and visiting scholar programs. Monitor, strategize, and track success of current and to-be-established internationally directed initiatives. Arrange logistical necessities for international travel of students and faculty, such as travel visas, flight and transportation arrangements. Provide support in the ongoing data management and data entry of students and faculty. Assist in preparing and presenting information sessions, pre-departure orientations, and re-entry events for students and faculty. Coordinates student admissions process, notifying students of acceptance or denial and preparing new student files. Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs. Coordinate monthly Global and Community Health lecture series. Collaborate with the Center for Global Learning and Engagement and the International Center at APU. Attends Graduate Council, Nursing Doctoral Committee, and Global and Community Health Committee meetings, preparing and distributing minutes. Prepares class rosters for doctoral courses and distributes to faculty each semester. Coordinates Doctoral Student Orientation for new students each fall. Maintain data for student progress and program evaluation for BRN, CCNE, and other regulatory bodies. Maintain files of key questionnaires for data collection. Performs other duties related to job description as assigned by supervisor. Required Education Master’s degree or equivalent education and experience. Required Experience Four – six years of experience, university setting or related area preferred. Skills Good clerical skills, word processing expertise, strong oral and written communication skills with faculty, staff, students and the public. Organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal interaction skills. An understanding of international travel and relationships. Appreciation for other people and cultures is essential. Mental Demands Good organizational skills, confidentiality, ability to exercise discretion and judgment in performing duties, ability to work with minimum supervision.
